1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how LicenseForge ("we", "us", "our"), available at licenseforge.dariuszgulbicki.pl, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Service.

LicenseForge is designed to be a privacy-respecting tool. No account registration is required, and the vast majority of our tools run entirely within your browser — your inputs are never sent to our servers.

3. What We Collect

3.1 Data you provide actively

LicenseForge does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use any tool. Any text you enter in the generators (company name, email address, website URL for your own documents) is processed entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers.

3.2 Data collected automatically

When you visit LicenseForge, our web server and infrastructure provider may automatically record standard technical information, including:

• Your IP address and approximate geographic region (country / city).
• Browser type and version.
• Operating system.
• Referring URL (the page that linked you to us).
• Pages visited and time of visit.
• HTTP status codes and response sizes.

This information is recorded in server access logs and is used solely for security monitoring, debugging, and capacity planning. It is not linked to a personal identity unless required for abuse investigation.

3.3 Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (such as Plausible Analytics or a self-hosted equivalent) to understand aggregate usage patterns — for example, which tools are most visited. Such analytics collect no personally identifiable information and set no tracking cookies. If analytics are active, it will be noted in the Cookies section.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use automatically collected data to:

• Operate and maintain the Service (server infrastructure).
• Detect and prevent abuse, DDoS attacks, and other security threats.
• Debug technical errors and improve the Service.
• Understand aggregate usage patterns (anonymised analytics only).

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any form of automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data under the following legal bases:

• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — processing server logs for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and service stability. Our legitimate interests are balanced against your privacy rights; you can object at any time (see Section 8).
• Legitimate interests — anonymised, aggregate analytics (where applicable) to improve the Service. No individual is identified.

No processing is based on consent where an alternative legal basis applies. Where we ever require consent for a new processing activity, we will ask for it explicitly.

6. Cookies

LicenseForge uses minimal cookies:

• Strictly necessary cookies — session or preference cookies required for the Service to function (e.g., storing your current theme preference). These cannot be disabled without breaking functionality.
• Analytics cookies — if cookieless analytics are in use, no cookies are set. If session-based analytics are enabled in future, we will update this section and obtain consent where required.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party socialnetwork cookies.

7. Third-Party Services

We may rely on the following third-party services to deliver the Service:

• Cloudflare — the Service is proxied and protected by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare acts as a reverse proxy, CDN, and DDoS protection layer. Your IP address and request metadata are processed by Cloudflare before reaching our origin server. Cloudflare may store this data in data centres worldwide. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details. LicenseForge is part of the *.dariuszgulbicki.pl domain family; other services under that domain are governed by their own respective privacy policies.
• Google Fonts — the site loads the Inter font from Google Fonts at page load, which may transmit your IP address to Google. You can block this via your browser or network-level DNS filtering.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

9. Data Retention

Server access logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days for security and debugging purposes, after which they are permanently deleted or anonymised.

Because LicenseForge does not store user accounts or user-submitted content, there is no additional personal data to retain or delete beyond server logs.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information processed by the Service against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include:

• HTTPS encryption for all traffic between your browser and our servers.
• Access control on server infrastructure.
• Regular software and dependency updates.

No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide a prominent notice on the Service for at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
